Day 1
Exploring the Palaces
Morning:
5:00 AM – Arrive at Golden Temple
Arrive early to witness the serenity and peace of the Golden Temple complex as it is less crowded during the early morning hours.
Begin your visit by entering the temple complex and walking around the Sarovar (holy tank). The early morning light on the golden structure is breathtaking.
5:30 AM – Morning Prayer and Kirtan
Attend the early morning prayers (Sukhmani Sahib), which are performed in the Golden Temple. The soulful kirtan (hymn singing) is calming and uplifting, making it a perfect introduction to the spiritual atmosphere of the temple.
6:00 AM – Darshan at the Golden Temple
Visit the main shrine (Golden Temple). Walk across the marble causeway over the Amrit Sarovar (the holy pool) to reach the golden structure.
Be sure to follow the temple’s protocol: remove your shoes, wash your hands and feet, and cover your head with a cloth or scarf.
